Black and white 3 1/2"h x 5 3/4"w photo of Notley Hall. This is a story and a half gable roof house with double outside end chimneys on the gable end away from the camera. There is a small gable roof addition on the near end of the house with an inside end chimney on the gable end. There is also a gable roof outbuilding to the back and right of the main structure. It has no windows and a simple door with no steps on the gable end. The main building has a single six over six window in the gable end. There is a large shed roof dormer on the right roof that has at least three and maybe four windows. The roof overhangs the first floor. Two tall narrow windows are visible on this floor. The addition has a shed roof porch on the right of the gable end that is four steps above the ground. The far edge of the porch roof is attached to the main building and the near edge is supported on a post. Two other posts create an opening for a "door," but there is no screening. An opening is visible in the house, but whether a door or window is not known. There are no openings in the gable end. The space under the porch floor and the addition is open. There may be a light pole in the back yard and some sort of outbuilding is barely visible in the distance. The photographer's? car is in the driveway. There is a very tall pole in the ground in the foreground. A man is standing near the porch with his back to the camera. Mr. Fenwick's text on the scrapbook page, "One small wing is all that is left of this mansion that at one time was the mansion of Governor Thomas Notley of Maryland."
