Obituary clippings from a newspaper for a Mrs. Pamelia B. Archer and Mary S.- daughter of Capt. Richard Evans. An etching of a classical marble statue consisting of a lion gazing up at a woman lounging on his side while she gazes back at him is included. To the left of the top of the image is the year 1856. On the back is a separate clipping with handwritten notes in the middle. Around the words is heavy embellishment of gold, red, blue, and green, with an eagle at the top with wings spread resting on a nest. On the top left is the image of a pale-skinned red-haired child sitting on the ground surrounded by large flowering vines reaching up to a red, blue, and white bird. On the top right side is the image of another child, also sitting on the ground and surrounded by flowering vines, but looking downward and holding what appears to be a white flag above their head. The writing states, "Lizzie R Bissell Oct 27 1162 Harford County Maryland" [Note the year appears to be 1162 but that is inconsistent with the collection and material]Collection
