1995.001.1089Description
Black and white photograph 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w of an old story and a half house near Compton. This view is of one gable end with a pair of outside end chimneys and the porch side of the house. The metal roof slope includes the porch. Between the chimney stacks on the upper story is a screen door. The first step is a long one. The woodwork is painted in a contrasting color to outline the opening. On the first floor gable end there is a door to the narrow end of the porch, a horizontal window several feet off the ground, and a door between the chimneys. All the openings are outlined in a contrasting color. The porch has clapboard about halfway up from the ground and then screening, but four six light windows appear to be inside the screening. A picket fence is between the camera and the house and a washtub leans against the fence. There are many trees.
