Sepia tone photo 8"h x 10"w of Edith Hazeltine with Fenwick and Abell children in front of the Fenwick home. Edith Hazeltine was an orphan girl who lived with the Fenwicks and helped with the children. This was a fairly common practice at the time. The group is standing in the open gate of the chicken wire fence around the house. There are eight children with Edith. An American flag and a Maryland flag are flying from the gateposts. Since most of the leaves are off the trees, perhaps it is Armistice Day. The large two and a half story house with wraparound porch looms behind the group. A telephone or electric wire bisects the photo horizontally at the roof line of the second story.
