This is a photograph of Our Lady's Chapel in Medley's Neck. The person in the photo was Father William Stanton, S.J. This was a side view of the chapel. The building was a brick rectangle with a simple gable roof. There was a wooden tower on the gable end that appears to be much newer than the building. There were three twelve over nine double hung windows evenly spaced along the long wall. All the windows were open. Each window had dark shutters. The roof was dark shakes, with a double row of tar paper over the left end, with a small brick inside end chimney piercing the roof peak. There was a dark gutter the entire length of the building with a downspout on each end. The tower had a pyramid roof surmounted by a wooden? cross. The belfry was open with lattice work on the visible sides. The rest of the tower had plain planks laid in a straight horizontal manner. There was a door on the visible side of the tower. There was a wing on the back of the building with clapboard siding and a shake gable roof pierced by a small corbeled chimney at the peak. The entire wing was not visible in the photo, but it appeared to have been added onto at some point because newer clapboard is interlaced with the siding nearest the sanctuary. One rather small open window with six over six lights was near the sanctuary end of the wing. There were dark shutters on the window. Several large trees were on the far side of the building. There were two small crosses in the ground in the left foreground surrounded by a jumble of greenery.
