Parlett House 2Entry/Object ID
2014.009.0230Description
5"h x 7 7/8"w black and white photo of the Parlett house. It was a two and a half story stucco house with a series of gables and heavy cornices with stout returns. This was a view of the front and one side of the house. The chimney was at the intersection of four gables. A large antenna was mounted on the roof by the chimney. There were small windows in the peaks of the two visible gables, neither of which appeared to have glazing. Squirrels! On the second floor front there were two two over two windows. Around the corner was a blank wall and around the next corner was another two over two double hung window. On the gable end there was a single window on the second floor. The cornice on the upper right had broken away from the roof and building. On the first floor there was a hipped porch roof that covered the front and part of the side of the house. The porch had two large bays on the front elevation but on the left side, the wall had no windows at all. On the first floor gable end was a two over two window. Behind the house was a small single story addition that had a small window. The shrubs in front were badly overgrown, so many details are not visible.
