Perfume bottle without stopperEntry/Object ID
2014.018.0009Description
3 1/4" (including lid) clear glass perfume bottle with twelve notched ribs tapering to a flat polished bottom. The metal lid is black and gold tones; from above it appears to be a flower. It was meant to screw on, but now it snaps on or off. I don't think it was meant to have a stopper--there is not enough room under the cap, but at the same time, the hole is quite large. There is a tiny metal loop on the cap that might have allowed one to suspend it from a thin chain if one weren't worried the lid would come off. I'm pretty sure this is pressed, rather than cut, glass. How it came to be in the bank's material is a mystery.Collection
