The photograph itself was done professionally and is a full-body shot for both children. John has on a dark colored coat and pants. He has a white shirt with a dark bow tie. His sister on the other hand has on a patterned dress with bare shoulders that had the ends tied at the top of the arms. She also seems to be wearing a necklace of some sort and had on light colored bloomers. John is standing behind an end table with his hands on top of the book laying on saod end table. His sister is sitting on the left side of the end table in a chair and is resting her hands on the end table itself. If I had to make an educated guess on the year this was taken I would say between 1870 and 1875. As for their relation to the Pickersgill-Cunliffe family I'm not certain.
On the back is a label that says "Oliver, John Sims and SIster".Collection
