The photocopies this time around are 2 pages from the William and Mary Quarterly. On both pages Hope highlighted mentions of Nicholas Guyther during his time as sheriff. The William and Mary Quarterly goes on to explain that as the sheriff of St. Mary's County, Capt. Nicholas Guyther had a very specific and important duty. He was required to notify the freemen of the Several Hundreds of St. Mary's County to assemble so they could choose the Burgesses to appear at the General Assembly in St. Mary's City.Collection
