Photos of High House in Addingham, West YorkshireEntry/Object ID
2014.013.0228Description
These are a set of color photos taken of High House in Addingham which was once owned by family patriarch John Cunliffe.
The first photo was taken from the street and is facing mostly the side of the building. A low stone wall is seen surrounding the home. Inside the property out front are a number of trees to the right and in the center of the photo a hedge can be seen. The building itself is very old and at the earliest was built around mid to late 17th century. The side of the home facing the photographer has quite a lot of ivy growing on the brickwork. On the back Hope wrote:

now (July 2005) a hotel.
The second photo was taken from the front yard facing the home. With this closer view comes a better look at the old brickwork alongside the verdant yard. Like on the side of the building more ivy is seen climbing upward and one can see that the hedge has an arch to it.Collection
