Next up are pages twenty-one through twenty-three of a write-up of Hope's genealogical research on both the Pickersgills and a bit of the Cunliffes.
Page twenty-one picks up where twenty left off with the continuation of Jill Helen Pickersgill-Cunliffe's son Ronald's children.
Following that entry is Enid Saffron Pickersgill-Cunliffe. She was the daughter of Harry Pickersgill-Cunliffe and his wife Arlette. She born in 1891. On April 9th, 1910 she married Arthur Bertram Randolph. Arthur was killed in action in 1915 but before he died they managed to have a son named Patrick Randolph. On June 30th, 1917 she went and got married to a man named Capt. Evelyn Hugh James Duberly. They had two children: Grey and William.
Page twenty one finishes with Valentine Audrey Pickersgill-Cunliffe. She was the elder daughter of Charles Pickersgill-Cunliffe and his wife Evelyn. She was born January 22nd, 1887. She married Rev. Lancelot O. Frewer on July 1st, 1915. Her entry continues on to page twenty-two. The following page mentions her three children: John, Audrey and Mary.
Afterwards is Margaret "Peggy" Aline Pickersgill-Cunliffe. She was the youngest daughter of Charles Pickersgill-Cunliffe and his wife Evelyn. She was born in 1890. On October 26th, 1911 she married Capt. Gerald Wynter Blathwayt. Margaret and Gerald had two children: Madeleine and Elizabeth. Her entry continues on to page twenty-three with information on Elizabeth.
After the top of page twenty-three continues on about Margaret's second daughter we finally reach the endword of Hope's research on this family. She goes into detail about how gloomy society was when Queen Victoria mourned Prince Albert for decades and how it changed when her son ascended to the throne. Hope makes mention of how English Kings take notice of their subjects during times of stress and danger and how to appeal to the people was for a king to invite subjects to Court. Considering King Edward ruled during World War I he curried favor with families like the Pickersgill-Cunliffes. The girls went to Court and the boys went to war. She says World War I was the beginning of the end for the Pickersgill-Cunliffe line and that World War II finished both them and other names tied to their family.Collection
