Two 10 7/8"h x 14 3/8"w photographs, copies of what was originally a tintype of the Piney Point Store taken around 1870. The photographer may be standing on the pier in front of the store to take the picture. Mr. Fenwick's notes say the store faced the Potomac River in about the same location as the present (1972) post office. The store is two stores with large verandas on each level that appear to wrap all the way around. There is a central door in the middle of each floor, flanked by one double hung six over six window on each side. On the lower level, one shutter can cover the entire window. There is a boardwalk leading to the pier and a large pile of shells on the beach. There are people on the lower level watching the photographer, including the store clerk leaning out the right hand window. This store was owned by Mr. Ingrams.
