Black and white 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w photo of Porto Bello on St. Mary's River near Drayden. This view shows the brick gable end of the two story main house. It has a gambrel roof with a pair of outside end chimneys. A lightning rod is installed on the right stack whose ground wire runs down the outside face of the chimney. The chimneys are straight on the inside and have shoulders on the outside. The left chimney is painted a light color to match the rest of the brick and the right chimney is dark--perhaps it had to be replaced or repaired. At the peak is a small square four light window. On the second floor, at each corner of the space and near the eaves is a four over four double hung window. On the first floor, outside of the left chimney, is a tall narrow nine over nine window with one shutter on its left edge. There is a pent between the chimneys that has been built out with a shed roof with an inverted U vergeboard. This covers a brick space that looks somewhat like a sunroom. There are three tall windows grouped under the eave and a door that opens to the left to a tiny roofless porch and steps. There are multi-colored bricks above the windows and the door. There is some sort of opening or ventilation panel on the lower right under the windows. A shed roof covers a barely visible porch on the left and there is a similar feature on the right. Whether it is a porch or an addition cannot be determined. The electric meters are at the corner of the house on the right. One dormer is barely visible at the break in the roofline on the left.
