Sepia tone landscape oriented photo 5 3/8"w x 3 1/4"h. As is written at the top of the image, this shows the Porto Bello wharf in 1910. A central road to the Saint Mary's River was flanked by two gable roofed buildings on poles in the river. At the end of the road a wooden pier sloped up and out over the river. Wooden crates were piled on the pier. The building on the left had a pair of six light windows up near the roof peak, presumably to light a building that would otherwise be piled high with product waiting for the steamers. On the long side of the building, next to the road, there appeared to be a window and a large door. The bottom of the door was about the right height for trucks or wagons pulling up to unload freight into the building. The building on the right was only about half the size of the other building. There was a small chimney on the river end of the roof. On its near gable end were a four light window at the roof peak and a twelve light window on the first floor. There was at least one window and a door on the elevation that paralleled the road. A fairly long set of stairs led up to the door to the building. The building may have been an office or even a store. No craft were visible on the river.
