Black and white landscape oriented photo on a postcard 5 3/8"w x 3 1/2"h. As is written on the verso of the card, this shows the Porto Bello wharf in 1915 as the steamer Anne Arundel took on freight. The camera operator was standing on shore on the down river side of the wharf. The wharf is quite different from the image of 1910. There is only one sizable barn or warehouse building on the upstream side of the road to the pier. The building has a catwalk at its roof peak, an electric light hanging from a very high pole above the roof peak, and a large American flag on a pole at the gable end on the river side. The land side gable end had two small windows near the roof peak and what appears to be a very tall door at first floor level. There may have been three large doors on the elevation that paralleled the road. The pier still sloped up and over the river. In the photo, it was crowded with men in dark clothing. There was a pile of something on the pier, but no one seemed to be loading it onto the steamer, even though it had its cargo door open. The steamer had three decks with windows, a tall central dark stack, and the usual rounded pilot house on the top deck. Its name plate was just aft and above the pilot house. Its hull was scratched and unkempt generally. A sail boat was just visible in the far left of the image. The card had the usual space for a message on the left, name and address on the right.
