Scope and Content

1 postcard ; 3 1/2"h x 5 3/8"w Postcard with landscape view of Leonardtown's Main Street after a heavy snow. The snow on the ground appears to be knee-deep, but the snow on the roofs is not that deep. There appears to be a horse in the middle distance of the photo. Only one man is visible as he wades along a rough path through the snow. Number on the left: "6610" Caption under the photo: "Main Street looking south, Leonardtown, Md." On the verso of the card in sepia ink: upper left corner, an eagle with shield and arrows, POST CARD in the center, box for the stamp in the upper right. The box indicates domestic postage was one cent and foreign postage was two cents. A double vertical line, slightly left of center divides the space; the message space is smaller than the address space. "This side for Correspondence" on the left and "This side for Address" on the right including dotted lines for the address text.
