In the middle distance is either a small pier or a support for a pipe that is fairly high above the water. On a small piece of a Point Lookout Company notepad: "Beach on Potomac river at Point Lookout, St. Mary's County Md., looking toward Cornfield Harbor and location of proposed channel and boat harbor."
