Procession at Leonard Hall SchoolEntry/Object ID
2010.002.0049Description
7"h x 9 1/2"w copy of a photo that appeared in the Baltimore Sunday Sun in May 1936. It showed a procession of children going to a military mass on the grounds of Leonard Hall School. The caption says the children were part of the Southern Maryland Conference of the Catholic Students Mission Crusade. All the children were dressed in white; the group in the center of the photo were the flag bearers. In the lower left corner were small girls, probably no more than six, who had on white dresses, very short dark capes, and head-hugging white hats with a dark stripe. The older girls all wore white garrison caps. The boys did not have any headgear. Nuns from the Sisters of Charity were shepherding each group.
