Scope and Content

1 vol. (15 3/4" x 10 3/8") This book covers the Fall term 1867 to Fall term 1874. The page of instructions and a page of rules are followed by an interesting diatribe against the parents of the school district, dated June 13, 1871. The teacher at that time was H. Clay Dent. The attendance pages are ruled off into five-day weeks with a listing of subjects taught on the right side. A pair of pages was sufficient for a term unless there were more than thirty-three students, which happened sometimes in this school. This may be the White Oak Swamp School.
