This book covers Summer term 1881 to Winter term 1884. There is one page of instructions and then the pages are ruled off into twelve five day weeks plus summary columns. Two pages usually sufficed for a quarter unless there were more than thirty-three pupils. Tables on the right side of the pages showed teachers' salaries, and attendance summary, gender of pupils, and details of the building, as well as an indication of the grade level of the pupils. The student census varied, but was always well over sixty students. A teacher and an assistant managed all these children. In the pages of Summer term 1881 was a single sheet with the ages of several of the children. This sheet was placed in a folder and left in place.
