This book covers Fall term 1888 to Spring term 1891. There is one page of instructions and then the pages are ruled off into twelve five day weeks plus summary columns. Two pages usually sufficed for a quarter unless there were more than thirty-three pupils. Tables on the right side of the pages showed teachers' salaries, and attendance summary, gender of pupils, and details of the building, as well as an indication of the grade level of the pupils. The student census hovered around sixty, with a couple of memorable quarters of more than seventy students. Only one teacher is listed.
Regina Hammett identified this school as the Leonardtown School, possibly the colored school.Collection
