The directions for completion constitute the first page of the report. The data is for the year ending July 31, 1940. A summary of the number of school buildings and teachers is first, followed by a summary of receipts and disbursements in various breakdowns, finally leading to a cost per pupil. There are separate pages for white and colored schools. This book has a few entries in the "Remarks" section. A form which summarized the amount of money received from "entertainments" and how it was spent, and a carbon copy of the district's financial statement and copies of its publication in the Saint Mary's News and Enterprise are in a separate folder.Collection
