5 7/8"h x 4 3/8"w oval sepia tone portrait of Rose, wife of Ernest. Rose's photo was in a "frame" of reeds tied with straps. She was seated in the photographer's chair with a sunset backdrop. This was probably her wedding photo. She may have had light brown hair which was dressed to create a halo above her ears. She wore a strand of beads around her neck. Her dress was very elaborate. The neckline was wide and somewhat square. The fabric was pleated from her shoulders across and under her breasts. There was a lace inset and three pleats across her chest to support the inset. Bands of embroidery and beading went from her shoulders to her waist where there was a central flower of beads. The sleeves reached her elbows and had about a six inch panel of beading and embroidery around them. The skirt appeared to be plain. This must have been a very expensive dress. She wore a bracelet on her left arm and a ring on her left ring finger. In the panel below the image is text in black ink: "Dear Cousin Fannie: I want to introduce Rose to you. Aff [?] Ernest"
