Description

3 1/4"h x 3 1/8"w black and white photo of a small chapel at Rosedale on the Patuxent River. The tiny chapel appeared to have been freshly rehabilitated. It was a gable roof building with a a cedar shake roof. There was a cross in the center of the roof peak and a scalloped verge board all around. In the gable end was a center entry door with one large light. There were pilasters and a small roof around the door. On the side of the building were two six over six windows with dark shutters. The property was part of Resurrection Manor and was variously known as Orchard Neck and Read's. The final owners gave the property to the State of Maryland in 1971 and it is now part of Greenwell State Park. ********************************** Text on verso: in pencil "Rosedale on Patuxent Hollywood, Md."
