Generally, minimal business seemed to be transacted at the meetings. Mostly the women collected small amounts of money for dues, a self-help fund, sometimes called the self-care fund, and a Christmas fund. In 1978, chapter membership was limited to 24, but this number was increased in later years, ending up with just over 40. There was often a waiting list of potential members.
