2014.013.0267Description
There are three pages that Hope wrote wrote notes on. The first one is citing an article on a workers protest against Lord Masham and Lord Masham had been told to address the situation through Judge John Cunliffe-Lister. The workers involved were employed at Acton Hall Colliery. Over two thousand were affected. Hope detailed that the article cited was dated to November 27th, 1903.
The second page and third page are notes Hope made in regards to the appearances of both the coat of arms for the Cunliffe-Lister family and Lister family. Beneath the details on the Cunliffe-Lister coat of arms is the name of Philip Cunliffe-Lister Baron of Masham. Below the Lister coat of arms is the first name is hard to discern due to the handwriting but Lister is visible along with the title of Gentleman, M.A. Oxford, Barrister. Underneath the Lister information is a hand drawn picture of the Lister coat of arms.Collection
