Description

10"h x 8"w sepia tone photo of Ruth Blackistone Dent in her wedding finery with one foot on a stair step. She had a flowered head band that carried a very long veil that was embroidered on its far edge which trailed a good three feet along the floor behind her. She had dark hair and eyes. Her bodice had a short cape effect with sleeves at least to her elbows. She was wearing over-the-elbow heavy white gloves. Her skirt appeared to be of very heavy material with a very deep hem. There was no obvious decoration on the skirt. Miss Dent had on a necklace with a cross? on the end. She had on what appear to be fabric shoes with lots of decoration and probably a 1 1/2" heel. A large bouquet tied with tulle was on the table behind her. In the lower right corner of the print is handwritten "S[?] L[?] Fowler 1/2" Miss Dent's dress would suggest the photo was taken in the first decade of the 20th century. ************************************ Text on verso: "Ruth Blackistone Dent" in black fountain ink
