This is a portrait oriented photograph of Ruth Camalier Sterling and an unnamed priest. The priest is wearing a cassock over a white shirt. No ornament is visible. He is in front of a window with closed shutters. On his left stands Miss Camalier, a young lady of perhaps eleven or thirteen years with a heart shaped face and shoulder length hair that might be brown. She has on dark stockings, a knee-length dotted swiss dress with a large, almost sailor collar, a plaid jacket with a contrasting collar and cuffs, and a sailor hat with a very flat crown sitting on a patterned band.
