4 1/2"h x 5 3/4"w sepia landscape oriented photo of the ruins of Saint Andrews Episcopal Church on St. Andrews Church Road. I believe this was cut from the Baltimore Sunday Sun and mounted on brown photographer's board. There is a dark red and gold label on an indentation in the verso that leads to that conclusion. The photographer is on the road side of the church out in the graveyard. On the gable end of the building, the church has two square towers with a brick loft between them to form a portico beneath. There is a Palladian window in the loft. Two slender brick pillars support the upper portion of the entry. There is interesting brickwork on the first floor of the towers, but they are very plain above. The towers have very pointed slender peaks that look like witches' hats. There are niches on each side of the tower and on each level, but there is no statuary. The main building has a gable roof. There is a door in a round arched opening on the visible long side flanked by four round arched windows. Above and slightly to the right of the doorway is a slender chimney emerging from the roof. The graveyard has many individual stones and there are at least two fenced family plots visible in the photo. Handwritten text below the photo: "St. Andrews Church St. Mary's Co. Md. 1931"
