3 3/8"h x 4 3/8"w color photo of Saint Francis Xavier Church on Newtowne Neck. The photographer was standing in the parking lot looking at the building. The vestibule and choir loft of the church was three sided, with six over six double hung windows on each face of the second floor and on the side faces of the first floor. There was a slight arch over the first floor window. There was a double wooden entry door with two large rectangular panels and a small rectangular panel on each door. The flat spaces were painted yellow. The four sided bell tower was on the roof peak just back from the vestibule. It had round arch louvers on each side. The four sided shake roof pyramided to an orb and cross. The remainder of the building had a steeply sloped gable roof of cedar shakes. The walls of the sanctuary were clad in a warm beige clapboard. Near the entrance was a high six over six double hung window. Five other windows on the wall were twelve over twelve. At the far end of the sanctuary, the roof was a little higher, and the wall beneath it was brick with an entry door. There appeared to be only two courses of brick between the ground and the floor of the sanctuary.
