Saint Francis Xavier Church in snowEntry/Object ID
1980.001.0281Description
4 1/4"h x 5 3/4"w landscape orientation color photo of St. Francis Xavier Church. This was probably cut from a note card. It is winter and there is a light snow on the ground. The church is white with dark trim and a dark roof. The steeple is four sided with louvers in the rounded arches and a pyramid roof. The orb and cross are at a jaunty angle. The roof of the building had a steep slope. The entrance to the building had three walls, almost like an apse. On the upper floor there was a three light double hung window in each face. On the first floor a window was in each of the sides with the entry door in the middle. The view of the door was obscured by a tree. A small lamp post was on the right and the church's sign was even farther on the right. Behind the church loomed the brick manor house with double chimneys on each end. A sliver of Breton Bay was visible on the right edge of the image.
