4"h x 4 3/8"w black and white photo of Saint Francis Xavier Church on Newtowne Neck. This is a copy of an old photo. The twelve parishioners were standing in a plowed field next to the fence that surrounded the church. The manor house was in the left side of the photo. The vestibule and choir loft of the church was three sided, with nine over two double hung windows above and below. A small bell tower was barely visible on the roof peak just back from the vestibule. The main part of the building was obscured by trees. There were outbuildings on the right and a small house? addition? on the left with a large chimney. The text in the "frame" at the bottom of the photo: "Ecclesias. Francisci Xaverii Pertinens ad Resid. ad Leonardtown, Newtown St. Mary's County Md."
