Scope and Content

1 folder ; 11 3/4" x 9 1/2" Photocopy of a handmade sketch of the location of priest burials in Saint Ignatius Cemetery. The earliest listed is P. Livers 1789 and the latest is three young men who were killed when the Villa was struck by lightning July 3, 1891. Photocopy of a hand written list "Died at St. Inigoes (& buried there)" that cites some undefined record and notes some errors Photocopy of a handwritten list "West side of lot numbering from N. to S. listing seven burials and then another seven on the east side from N. to S., and a middle row with two burials. "Aunt" Louisa Mason pointed out these. Aunt in quotes usually means a very elderly African-American. Someone wrote in blue ink "St. Inigoes Cemetery Where Ours Lie" which may mean a book that was consulted. Photocopy of a typewritten list of burials stored at the Maryland Province Archives. The burial dates range from 1637 to 1891. Photocopy of a Notice of Three Days' Preaching and Religious Exercises by Rev. D. B. Walker, S.J., no year mentioned. Maybe the churches listed did not have their own priest at the time. Rev. Walker was to be at Saint Nicholas from June 8-12, Saint George's from June 18-17, The Factory, presumably at Holy Face, and St. Inigoes, presumably at St. Ignatius, from June 22-25, and Saint Michael's from June 26-29. He planned to do masses and several sermons and hear confessions.
