3 1/2"h x 5"w black and white photo of Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, in which Dr. James Thomas Notley Maddox was very active. It was a small stone church with a very steep gable roof, probably of cedar shakes, a small belfry topped by a Holy Cross, and a square chimney on the back left corner of the building. There was a small apse on the back gable end. It had a pointed leaded glass window in the center of the back wall of the apse. There were three pointed windows on the long wall of the church. A ground level access to the basement was between the second and third windows. The photo illustrates an article by Gerald Sword about Doctor Maddox in Volume 34, No. 8 (August 1986) p. 389-396, Chronicles of St. Mary's.
