3 3/8"h x 4 3/4"w color print of Saint Mary's County Courthouse. The photo is quite faded--yellows and dull reds predominate. This was a view of the Courthouse Street side of the building. Tall trees obscured some of the details. All the windows on each floor had a demilune top. There were four large lights in each window. A dormer? was centered over the center of this wall with a round arch louver in the center. A large sign was below the dormer "St. Mary's Co. 1901." Below that was a six light French door that opened onto the roof of the porch. The door was flanked by large windows as previously described. The porch roof was five bays wide with six pairs of white columns set on four foot masonry supports. The porch roof was very slightly arched, mostly to carry rain away. Under the porch was a large central double door with a demilune window above. There were two visible windows on each side of the door. The porch floor may have been elevated above the ground by three steps; it is difficult to tell. There was a footpath across the front of the building and another straight out from the door. There were two large trees in the yard and there was a third very large tree, but it had been reduced to a stump. There may have been a watering trough out in the yard, but only the faucet is left.
