This photograph shows part of the fair grounds at Camp Calvert. The picture is taken from the top of the ferris wheel. To the right, a group of people is gathered around a crudely fenced attraction while other people follow a broad path toward and around a merry go round. There is a small ticket booth next to the merry go round, staffed by a young woman. The merry-go-round has a frieze of indecipherable decorations around the tent roof and has both horses on poles and benches on its deck. There is a display of agricultural implements along the fence and a gravel or shell area on the other side of the fence. The information booth is in that area and another long canvas shaded space. Inside the fence is an assortment of vehicles, mostly pickup trucks and one troop carrier. A small tractor sits alone in the middle of the space. A rectangular area is shaded by an awning and one man is standing high above the crowd, but it is not possible to tell what he is doing. There is a line of house trailers outside the fence behind the information booth, including an Airstream at the far left. Beyond that is a series of square buildings, undoubtedly camp cottages. Temporary power lines are strung in several directions. I only picked out three females in slacks; all other women and girls have on dresses or skirts. There are very few hats on either men or women. Very few men have on coats--shirtsleeves are the order of the day.
