Description

Three 12"h x 9"w light brown pages salvaged from a scrapbook about life at Saint Mary's Seminary in 1909 and 1910. Lettie Marshall Dent was a student during that time period, although she is in only one of the photos. Page 1 3 3/8"h x 5 1/2" sepia tone photo of a wagonload of young ladies at Longmore's store, a weekly trip from the Seminary. Students signed up in advance. Each person was numbered and identified in a list at the bottom of the page. Page 2 Six small photos of the 1909 May Day ceremony. There was a queen and her court and everyone dressed in white and carried flowers and foliage. The queen and her maids were identified, but not the crowd in photo 12. Calvert Hall and St. Mary's Hall were visible in the photos. Page 3 title "St. Mary's Seminary 1909-1910" there are seven small photos of life at the school. The photos include the arrival of a steamer at Brome's Wharf, a photo of the main school building before it burned, and photos of students. ************************************ Text on verso: none
