One 8"h x 10"w black and white photograph of the interior of Saunder's store in Leonardtown. The store was located at the intersection of Washington St./Sotterley Road and Point Lookout Road. A single bare light bulb was the only visible light, except for an eight light window on the right. Three men were in the photo, two behind the counter and one in front: Joseph P. Wilkinson, Sr. on the left, Joseph P. Wilkinson, Jr. in the center, and Joseph A. Saunders on the right. Mr. Wilkinson Sr. had on dark trousers and a herringbone vest and jacket over his white shirt. He had on a fedora. Mr. Wilkinson Jr. had on a light colored shirt and tie with a dark V-neck sweater over that. He wore round glasses. Mr. Saunders had on a coat with a white pocket square, dark V-neck sweater, white shirt and patterned tie. Behind the counter was a massive shelving unit full to nearly the ceiling with bottles, cans, and boxes. Grains of all types were on the top of the unit. A hand of bananas hung from the ceiling near the light bulb. There was a glass case on the counter with a selection of cigars. There was a large roll of wrapping paper in a dispenser next to the case. There were lots of things piled on top of the case, including a toy wagon. There was a metal stool in front of the counter and a rack on the floor holding large blocks of soap. Many, many things were on the counter between the two Wilkinsons. There was a scale dimly visible in the back corner of the store.
