The primary focus of the book is Maryland politics, the General Assembly, taxation, oyster harvesting, the effect of the depression on Maryland and the United States, and Mr. Coad's role in these affairs. Mr. Coad was chair of the Senate Finance Committee and was extremely visible in the debates on how to pay for relief for those most impacted by the Depression. Mr. Coad also considered running for governor and state comptroller. There are some articles about Saint Mary's County and many obituaries. These articles are pasted in a standard scrapbook with light brown soft paper. Several articles which were originally pasted in were cut out later.Collection
