The books' pages were numbered as presented and all the books photocopied in their entirety, except one, from which examples were taken.
It appears the books were meant as a chronological record of Mr. Coad's political career, but the need for space for later articles turned the books into a hodgepodge of politics, general interest items, and family clippings in uncertain order. It is necessary to look at all the books for material on any subject of interest. The primary focus of the books was Maryland politics and Mr. Coad's role in affairs, but as mentioned above, anything was fair game. There are many obituaries. One book seemed to focus on Hitler and the coming of World War II.Collection
