4"h x 6"w aerial color photo of the Seven Gables Hotel in California, Maryland. The hotel no longer stands. It was a very popular night spot back in the day. The gabled part of the building had a bright blue roof, but the addition on the right had a black roof. The central bloc had a large central gable, flanked by two smaller gables. The additions on each side also had two smaller gables. What was probably a long porch across the entire building had been enclosed. The window pattern was not consistent on the second floor, but the first floor had ten pairs of windows evenly spaced. There were seven or eight guest rooms on the second floor of the addition, but it is not easy to pick out guest rooms on the first floor. There was a road between the building and the Patuxent River, so the front yard was shallow. There were lots of shrubs and trees and a central flagpole. Benches and lawn chairs were scattered about the yard. There was a long pier partially visible.
