Show Boat MGM movie publicity posterEntry/Object ID
2008.012.0010Description
This poster was meant to be used at a theater where the movie was playing. In the lower right was a statement, "Property of National Screen Service Corp. Licensed for display only in connection with the exhibition of this picture at your theatre. Must be returned immediately thereafter. R-63/32" The image was a black and white photo of a dance number from the movie that was overlayed with a dull red wash. The name of the movie was under the photo in dull red letters. The number "4" was in the center of the lower edge, so one is tempted to think there were other numbered posters in the series.
