Black and white 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w photo of Smithwood in Scotland. It is a two story house with a gable roof. On this gable end are two massive brick outside end chimneys with a two story pent between them. There are two six-over-six windows with shutters in the attic space between the chimney stacks. A power line or ground wire runs from the roof down to the ground on the left side of the chimneys. There are two propane tanks in that immediate area of the foundation. On the left is a large two story porch. I can't tell if screening is in place. The roof is a gable that is perpendicular to the main building and built into its roof. The gable end is closed to the eaves. The porch appears to be three bays wide. It has four supporting posts on the gable end, a railing, and additional vertical supports that are probably meant to carry screening--three on the narrow end and six on the gable end. This appears to be accurate for both floors. The porch floor is several steps above the ground and is open underneath, being supported by several brick posts. The windows on each floor are not really visible--the ones on the second floor may be of the floor to ceiling type. There is a two part one story addition on the gable end of the house covering part of the chimneys. Presumably entrance is gained on the right side of the chimmeys. This has a gable roof that is parallel to the main building, with a sloping shed roof on the part nearest the chimneys. There are six two over two small windows grouped together in the shed roof wall; perhaps this was once a porch. There is one six over six window with shutters in the remaining wall of the addition. It has a single interior chimney about in the center of the roof and one small vent stack near the near corner of the eaves. There is either a television antenna or a lightning rod on the interior chimney.
