Description

3 1/2"h x 5 1/2"w black and white postcard showing the drawing room of Sotterley. The photo focussed on the fireplace and alcove wall with the elaborate carving and half shells at the top of the alcoves. There was a fire in the fireplace and chairs and benches arranged about the room. There were several pieces of porcelain on the mantel. In the bottom edge of the "frame" around the image, "Moss Photo, N.Y." ********************************************** Text on verso: in black print "Sotterley St. Mary's County, Maryland Built 1730" "Moss Photo Service, Inc., 350 W. 50th St., New York 19, N.Y."
