Black and white photo 8"h x 10"w of the study between the center hall and the dining room of Sotterley. I believe the camera is facing southwest. Sotterley is justly famous for its beautiful paneling. This photo shows the fireplace with multi-level moldings around the fireplace, a simple mantle and rather plain paneling on the walls. Above the fireplace is a convex mirror and there are ceramic pieces on the mantle. There are andirons on the raised hearth with fireplace tools on the right and a bellows hanging on the left. There is a closed door on the left. Also on the left is a large six over six window. There are bookcases on that wall and a game table with four chairs near the window. Two sizable upholstered chairs are pulled close to the fireplace. There is a large oriental rug on the floor. A single glass globe candle fixture hangs from the cross beam.
