Black and white 3 1/2"h x 4 1/4"w photo of the interior of Southampton before it burned. It puts one in mind of Sotterley. Centered on the wall is a fireplace with a fire burning. There is a tall flared mantel. Above it is a large plaster rectangle with a Greek key design. There are two tall candlesticks, two porcelain pots, possibly a clock and other knick-knacks on the mantel. The windows on each side of the fireplace are very deeply set in the wall and have an arch on the top of the window. The windows are six over six with large panes of glass. The plaster wall is arched over each window and there are "pillars" on each side of the opening. There is a table in the alcove on the right and a smaller table or simple desk with a chair in the alcove on the left. There are two rugs on the floor in front of the fireplace and a grouping of chairs in front of the fire. The fire tools are on the right.
