Description

3 3/8"h x 4 3/4""w black and white photo of the Southern Maryland Regional Library. The brick building is at the intersection of Md. Routes 5 and 6. It is two wings connected by a large hyphen. The public library occupies the hyphen and the wing on the left. The processing function of the library system occupies the right wing. The whole is covered with a standing seam gable roof. The gable end of each wing has two artificial inside end chimneys--one on each side of the roof peak--to give a colonial feel to the building. There is a smaller projection in the center of the hyphen to create an entry to the building. The universal library logo is mounted on the brick above the entry. In the center of each wing's gable end is a white half round arch above a six light by six light black glass panel. There is a door included in the glass, but it is seldom used. On each side of the central glass square is an upside down U of black glass lights, four for each vertical leg and sixteen for the horizontal part. A high tension power line runs through an area behind the building. ********************************** Text on verso: in black ink "So Md Regional Library Guyther photo" and on print instructions "Size 105% Job No. H227 Page # 58 Fig. # 1"
