Name/Title
Speaker at a Historical Society event 2Entry/Object ID
1980.001.0369Description
7"w x 5"h landscape orientation black and white photo of an unknown male speaker at a Historical Society event in a meeting room. The question and answer period was underway. The man had probably brown hair, receding a little, and wore a dark suit, white shirt, and striped tie. He wore eyeglasses with dark frames. He was near a podium, with his left hand resting on the top. He seemed used to public speaking, looking directly at a man in the front row of the audience. A woman in a pantsuit and frizzy hair was standing at the left edge of the photo; she held a sheet with several columns of numbers. A heavy cafeteria table was visible behind him, a coat rack was on his right, and there was a puppet stage in the corner. Many people in the audience were seated just in front of the photographer, so the backs of their heads are included in the photo. The audience was seated in molded plastic chairs. The walls of the room were concrete block, with a small window on the left edge of the image. A quirk in the photo makes it look as if the electrical switch on the far wall were on fire.Collection
