Description

This black and white postcard with a greenish cast is of the Leonardtown village square looking back toward the Duke building. The photographer may have been in an upper floor or on the roof of a building at the end of the square. The war memorial was in place with a circle of sidewalk around it. A flagpole, sans flag, was visible and there were several trees ringing the space. There were cars parked along the street on the right and most establishments had large awnings. The tip of the steeple at St. Aloysius was barely visible in the left distance. The postcard was published by Harry M. Jones. The opposite side of p. 35 was a 5" x 7" black and white enlargement of the postcard photo. ***************************************************** Text on the bottom of the postcard: "Washington Street, Leonardtown, Md."
