Description

This is a color photograph of the interior of a log cabin identified as the rectory of St. Augustine Church. There is wood paneling on the wall around a large fireplace. The paneling is painted a medium brown. There is a black slate? surround for the fireplace. There is no mantle. A framed copy of the Augustine Hermann map of Maryland is over the fireplace. There are two small metal sconces with candle type electric lights on either side of the fireplace. The outlet is down by the floor on the left. A small postcard or photo is tacked or taped on the wall to the left. A punch pad for a thermostat or a security system is on the right between the sconce and a large door. There is a brick hearth about three bricks deep that extends a foot or so on each side of the firebox. There is a piece of dun colored carpet on the floor, with a wooden settee at right angles to the fire, a chair on the hearth, and two upholstered chairs on the right. **************************************** Text on verso: "Parlor, Rector's house St. Augustine parish Ches.
